In September, a couple came to Haiti to help on a construction team and meet their Starfish Kid. While making introductions between Bud and Cindy and their student, Jovenel, I helped to translate. I shared that the couple would be praying every day for him and he in turn could pray for them. He responded that he could not. I thought maybe the message was lost in my translation so I repeated it again. Jovenel explained that he couldn’t pray as he was just put under the Starfish Kids program the week before and as part of his contract he went to church for the first time that past Sunday. He said he didn’t know how to pray for his new supporter. We all sat together with the pastor and shared the Gospel message with him and he prayed his FIRST prayer - inviting Jesus, as his Lord and Savior, into his life. THAT is what it’s all about! That is why we are here in Haiti and that is what Starfish Kids is all about! It is our hearts desire to see 4000 children led to the Lord before the end of grade 6!
